PAIN…

PAIN… This is something that many people don’t talk about. Some people feel that if they share their pain with someone, they will either misuse that against them or will consider them weak. But you know, that’s not the case always.

HURT

They rightfully say that sometimes, speech can hurt like a knife piercing through your heart. It can hurt so badly that you go numb, you don’t realise what just happened. But why does this happen?

How can someone hurt us so badly?

Because we have emotions, we’re humans, we have a soft heart that can get hurt even at the slightest harsh comment. These harsh comments can be anything and from anyone. Someone close, some friend, your loved ones, or even someone who doesn’t matter to you.

I’ve heard some people say that “you get hurt by what someone is saying only when you give them the power to hurt you. If they mean nothing to you, then you wouldn’t feel even the slightest of the pain.”

But I somehow don’t agree with this. Even if someone means nothing to you, even the mightiest comment on you, your life, your body, your feelings, anything can hurt you a lot.

After all, who wants to hear bad about them from anyone at all?

DO YOU NECESSARILY NEED A SHOULDER?

We have all been through rough patches in our life where we feel like we don’t belong. When we’re trying to get over something difficult, we wish someone to be by our side. Someone with whom we can share our heart, our feelings, our pain. But when you don’t have that person, it hurts even more. It hurts to know that no one is there to hear you out. That’s literally the worst feeling ever.

But wait. If someone is not there, so what? It doesn’t matter. You are a strong, independent person and you don’t need someone else to hear you out. You can always trust a journal.

Yes, a journal can always know how you’re feeling. If you’re having a good day, a bad day, going through pain, anything. And the best part is, it’ll never leave you alone. It’ll be by your side anytime you need it, till the time you want.

One other thing which I think sometimes works is turning yourself OFF. Now, if you’re a TVD aka The Vampire Diaries fan, you’ll know what turning your humanity off means. But if you’re not, then it’ll break it down for you. Vampires have a special power, wherein they can turn their humanity off whenever they are hurt or don’t want to feel the pain. Although, it isn’t too good a thing, but just hear me out once.

What if someone said bad to you out of anger, and you’re not affected by it? Doesn’t it seem like a tempting offer? What if you could turn yourself stone-hearted ONLY towards hateful and hurtful comments?

Sometimes, you need to do that for your peace of mind. You need to turn your emotions off so that you don’t break. I don’t say that turn cold towards anyone and everyone you meet, but try to build a wall between your heart and those hurtful comments, hurtful actions.

Sometimes, turning stone-hearted can be the biggest favour you do to yourself. Not that I recommend that, but sometimes, you don’t have a choice but this.

And I hope, the next time you feel hurt or sad, you’ll write it out in that journal of yours! 😉

Stay safe girls and boys. Keep smiling! ❤
